As we continue to innovate, we iterate. So I’m excited to share a small but important change: we’re shortening the term Domain Super Apps to simply “DomainApps”. This decision reflects our commitment to clarity and focus.
The term “Super” often conjures images of catch-all platforms like Asian-style Super Apps, which serve multiple, unrelated industries. While those apps are impressive, what we’re building—and enabling our partners to build—is something very different. Simplifying to “Domain Apps” makes the distinction clearer.
What Are Domain Apps?
Domain Apps are industry-specific customer engagement apps designed to streamline customer journeys by consolidating related tasks within a single app. Unlike traditional, single-use, apps or multi-purpose Super Apps, Domain Apps specialise in a specific industry or vertical. The brand leverages its deep domain expertise and accumulated customer trust to deliver seamless, connected experiences. This is made possible through customer participation with their data about their lives (through trusted Private Personalisation) to get their jobs done.
Here’s a quick recap of what makes Domain Apps unique:
- Streamlined Customer Journeys:
Domain Apps bring together clusters of related jobs within an industry. For example, an automotive Domain App might handle everything from browsing and financing a car purchase, through to maintenance and locating charging stations—all in one place. The in-App AI agent manages the domain for the customer. - Industry Expertise & Brand Trust:
Built by trusted brands with deep domain knowledge, Domain Apps focus on solving customer needs within their specialty. Delivering on their brand promise to ensure better outcomes and loyalty. - Privacy-First Personalization with DataSapien:
Powered by our privacy-preserving technology, Domain Apps offer personalized insights and intent signals while keeping customer data under their full control. - A Competitive Edge:
Brands adopting Domain Apps early can dominate their sectors by offering more convenience, fostering customer trust, and expanding into adjacent markets to serve new customer jobs and fuel growth.
Why the Change?
The term Domain Super Apps created confusion, as many equated it with the broad, multi-domain approach of traditional super apps. By renaming to simple “Domain Apps”, we’re doubling down on the focus of our innovation: empowering brands to own and excel within their specific domain.
At DataSapien, we’re thrilled to see how brands are transforming their customer engagement strategies with Domain Apps. This name change reflects the clarity, precision, and simplicity that underpin our vision for the future of customer experience.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to drive Domain App innovation forward!
